‘In the Blink of an Eye’ showcases the work of 6 internationally renowned photographers flown in to Dubai to host workshops and lectures for the sixth annual Gulf Photo Plus event in March. Each photographer brings to this collection their own individually themed collection of images, examining and expressing their unique perspective through an extraordinary range of photographic talent.
Photographers David Nightingale, Steve Simon, Robin Nichols, Zach Arias, Joey Lawrence and Melissa Rodwell will all be present at the opening on the 28th of February, presenting a unique opportunity for aspiring photographers and enthusiasts to meet and mingle with the talent behind the images.

OUT OF BOUNDS |
A one-man play in English produced by Feroz Abbas Khan, of the “Tumhari Amrita,” “Saalgira” and the award winning film “Gandhi my Father” fame.
“Out of Bounds” a classic piece of biographical South African theatre that transcends the myopia of race and culture. Funny & poignant, the play is a fascinating and moving insight into the world of an Indian family in a racially segregated township in South Africa.
It features RAJESH GOPIE, who runs a gamut of emotions as he entertains with dazzling craft and skill. The play is tempered and structured under the acute directing hand of Tina Johnson, from New York City.
Internationally acclaimed, it has travelled to 22 countries, including New York, London, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Madrid, Frankfurt, Dublin, performing to standing ovations everywhere.

MACBETH |
Acclaimed UK theatre company Shakespeare 4 Kidz bring their thrilling musical version of Macbeth to DUCTAC from March 15 to 19. Last year's Romeo and Juliet was a smash hit in Dubai and Macbeth has received great reviews all over the UK.
The musical tells the story using some of Shakespeare's most famous lines, interwoven with modern language so that everyone - even the youngest kids - can understand what is going on.
The play tells the story of a fierce warrior who is told by three witches that he will one day become king of Scotland. Encouraged by his evil wife, ambitious Macbeth murders everyone who stands between him and the throne. The story is exciting, with spooky spells, bloody battles, gory ghosts and even a forest that moves.

THE DICTATOR’S WIFE |
Salaam Pakistan presents “The Dictator’s Wife”, a play written by Mohammed Hanif and solely performed by his wife, Nimra Bucha. “The Dictator’s Wife” has been dubbed “a riveting act’ by audiences the world over. This gripping play promises to make a brilliant statement on a self-involved, shrewd dictator and his subsequent decline. Bucha plays the role of a woman trapped in a gilded cage, frustrated with her narcissistic husband.
Mohammad Hanif is the author of the internationally acclaimed novel, “A Case of Exploding Mangoes”. Bucha has acted on stage and radio in Pakistan and the UK. She has acted in plays for BBC World Service and Radio 4 including the radio adaptation of “Midnight’s Children”. She has also recently performed at the Edinburgh Festival.

TWELFTH NIGHT |
Shipwrecked and washed-up on the shores of Illyria, Viola disguises herself as a man, heads into town and gets a job with Duke Orsino. Her task is to persuade Olivia, the object of Orsino’s unrequited love, to marry the Duke. But instead, Olivia falls for Viola, who of course she thinks is a man. Meanwhile, just to add to the confusion, Viola’s identical twin brother Sebastian fetches up in Illyria too…
Twelfth Night is one of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies. A rich mixture of mistaken identities, unrequited love, trickery, daring swordplay and robust fun combine to make this the perfect introduction to anyone experiencing a Shakespeare play for the first time.

ASCENDANCE HIP HOP |
The Alliance Française and Les Dechargeurs are bringing France’s most talented hip-hop and contemporary dancers to Dubai, giving dance lovers a unique opportunity to discover hip - hop culture and urban dance.
Ascendance Hip-Hop is performed by a group of dance pioneers from the Ascendance and Uzume companies who promise to push the boundaries of contemporary dance and give a fascinating choreographic illustration of human relationships.
Uzume company performs the first part of the show. They start with Autrement Moi, a dance duet that highlights the complexity of human relationships. This is followed by Crescendo, a solo by Claire Moineau telling the story of how someone full of doubts can reach their ideal through dance.
The second part of the show is a solo performed by Fox, winner of numerous awards and the first hip-hop dancer to perform on prestigious theatre stages such as La Villette in Paris. His performance depicts the fall of a man, boiling dance down to its very essence - its breathing.
With its fusion of cutting edge dance and music, this show is a must-see for fans of contemporary dance, hip-hop culture, or anyone who wants a fantastic introduction to both.

SHARMILA’S DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA |
Sharmila’s Dance Extravaganza features a medley of dance styles, ranging from hip hop, lyrical jazz, contemporary, Indian and musicals. Having started 10 years ago this show has got bigger and bigger and has been sold out for every performance.
The show features over 160 performers, ranging from as young as 7 to professional adults, all of whom are based in the U.A.E. Sharmila’s talented company members perform throughout the show with Sharmila joining them for the grand finale. The entire show is choreographed by Sharmila with assistance from her company members - it promises to be a show that keeps you glued to your seats with your feet tapping the entire time!
