Building for a creative future
The Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre is the first modern, non-profit, cross-community creative centre in the Gulf, built to international specifications. This flagship project was the brainchild of local theatre-lovers and business people who recognized the need for an entertainment and educational centre for the community and future generations of Dubai.
The Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre was officially opened in November 2006, by our Honorary Patron, HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein,wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. Spanning some 80,000 sq feet, the venue includes:
• A state of the art 543 seat theatre
• Fully equipped Studio Theatre
• An Art Gallery
• Dance Studios
• Rehearsal Rooms
• 15 Artists' Studios & Classrooms
• A Pottery Workshop
In addition, the Centre is host to over 100 classes per week, and many national and international shows, artists and performances. The Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre is also home to The Centre for Musical Arts, The Art Materials Shop and The Old Library.
The Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre is operated and managed by multi-national theatre and arts specialists and governed by a Board. The Centre was built thanks to the commitment and support of many leading companies and individuals who participate in the Centre's Patronage Scheme.
All facilities are available for hire for performances, workshops, classes, presentations, meetings and seminars.
