Expressive Art for Children (ages 3 - 12)


This course is designed for children with no or little background of art and painting. This course will cover the basic principles of design through drawing, painting, collage, and story telling. Students will learn to look more closely at their surroundings and to overcome stereotypical ways of seeing. Students will learn to look at and discuss art works done by artists. The main goals of this course are to develop an interest in artistic expression and give the students the knowledge and freedom to express themselves. All the works will be discussed in the class, so children will learn how to explain and talk about their work.

Students will be introduced to a variety of techniques such as drawing, painting, constructing; using materials such as pencils, markers, crayons, paint, clay and found objects, different types of papers and canvas.

Under the guidance of a professionally qualified art tutor students will have the opportunity to explore their creative potential at its best. Drawing Skills (ages 8 - 16)

Under the guidance of a professionally qualified art tutor, students will learn the basics of drawing, perspective and shading techniques using pencil. From the very basics of how to correctly hold a pencil and the variety of pencil grades and their strengths, this will lead to perspective composition, 3D, light and dark and shading techniques. Using pencil and charcoal, students will steadily progress though a medium of varying exercises given to them.
